For more than a decade, Shelley Rinker, MD, and the staff at Novant Health Harborside Pediatrics have been serving the Mooresville and Lake Norman communities. They value the positive feedback they consistently receive from patients' families and are proud of the service they provide even beyond our office.
Shelley Rinker, MD, is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. This is a group devoted to promoting quality pediatric care for children nationwide. AAP provides continuing education to its members, meaning that patients at Novant Health Harborside Pediatrics benefit from our providers learning about the latest research and methods in treating pediatric patients.
Dr. Rinker is also active in two local charity groups. Dove House Children's Advocacy Center helps children who have been victims of sexual abuse, along with their non-offending family members. Dove House helps to investigate these crimes in not-threatening ways while offering support to victims. Dr. Rinker lends her services by conducting medical exams on victimized children in a safe, caring environment.
Solace For The Children is another charity that Dr. Rinker has chosen to support. This group offers medical help to children from war-torn countries. Some of the affected children are brought to the Lake Norman area, where they receive medical care and get a chance to enjoy normal kid activities in a safe place away from the threat of war. Dr. Rinker is one of the medical providers who sees the children and helps coordinate their care.
